Diet & Nutrition : How to Best Absorb Vitamin C Supplements

I’m Katie Adams a registered dietitian with
Decathlon Club, part of Western Athletic Clubs. Today we’re going to talk about how to better
absorb vitamin C. Vitamin C is essential for growth and development as well as it aids
in wound healing. Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin which means that it needs water to
be broken down and properly absorbed. Excess vitamin C is excreted in the urine so the
the body needs a constant supply of vitamin C to make sure all the needs are met. Vitamin
C and iron work together to help be absorbed by the body by containing a food that contains
Vitamin C such as citrus fruits, bell peppers or broccoli with foods that contain iron such
as meat, beans and spinach. You can better increase the absorption of both iron and vitamin
C. Eating a diet that is balanced that contains fruits and vegetables as well as whole grains
and lean protein is usually enough to consume an adequate amount of vitamin C for your body’s
needs. Since the body can only absorb a certain amount of vitamin C at one time it’s not necessary
to take a vitamin C supplement, since most of it would just be excreted in the urine

    So what OR WHO IS the S.A.D.? I don't want to come off a some type of conspiracy theorist but the truth is and all Doctors know or should know about the S.A.D. And most if they do know are keeping their BIG MOUTHS SHUT! S.A.D. folks- IS THE STANDARD AMERICAN DIET. THE STANDARD AMERICAN DIET is what is killing and making everyone sick in America plain and simple.

    The fact remains that if American Doctors informed you of what to do to ward off disease and extend your life span they wouldn't be in business to long. I mean think about it. Almost no cancer or heart disease? NO more people with obesity and high blood pressure. The average person living to near 100? Do you have any idea how many hospitals and Doctors as well as drug company's would be out of business?

    And just for the record to protect myself of being accused of being a conspiracy theorist here is the definition of CONSPIRACY…..a secret plan by a group or person to do something unlawful or harmful to anyone.

    So realistically speaking even though most American Doctors are aware of the fact that the American Diet is the cause of almost every disease in this country

    I can't say MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS planned or plotted OR EVEN AIDED IN THE CREATION OF THE AMERICAN DIET with intentions to INFLICT DISEASE ON AMERICANS.
